The flood of people claiming to be Christ, Messiah, Mahdi, or even God in the flesh is a sign of the end times prophesied in Scripture. We are told to stay alert and not be deceived.
Below is a shocking list of modern-day individuals who falsely claim to be Jesus, Christ, or the Mahdi as of 2025, including cults and blasphemous movements:
🔥 FAKE CHRISTS AND FALSE JESUS CLAIMANTS (2025)
→ Yang Xiangbin (China) – The female leader of Church of Almighty God (Eastern Lightning), claims to be the returned Christ. Her cult says Jesus has returned as a Chinese woman. Their doctrine is blasphemy and contradicts the Bible’s teaching on the bodily return of Christ from heaven (Acts 1:11).
→ José Luis de Jesús Miranda (Puerto Rico, deceased) – Claimed to be both Jesus Christ and the Antichrist. Founded "Creciendo en Gracia". Even after his death, his followers still spread his teachings.
→ Alan John Miller (Australia) – Claims he is Jesus reincarnated and runs a group called Divine Truth. His partner claims to be Mary Magdalene.
→ Sergey Torop (Russia) – Known as “Vissarion”, he claims to be the reincarnation of Jesus and leads a large community in Siberia.
→ Apollo Quiboloy (Philippines) – Calls himself the “Appointed Son of God” and claims salvation is only through him. His teachings are cultic and idolatrous.
→ Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez (USA) – Claimed he was Jesus sent to assassinate Obama, arrested in 2011, mentally unstable.
→ David Shayler (UK) – Former MI5 agent who once claimed to be Jesus Christ and dressed as a woman claiming divine revelations.
→ Ariffin Mohamed (Malaysia) aka “Ayah Pin” – Claimed to be Jesus, Buddha, and Muhammad all in one, founder of the Sky Kingdom sect.
→ Inri Cristo (Brazil) – Dresses in robes, lives like Jesus, and claims to be Christ returned.
→ Brian David Mitchell (USA) – Kidnapper of Elizabeth Smart, claimed he was Jesus.
→ Jeong Myeong-seok (South Korea) – Claims to be the Messiah and was involved in sexual abuse. Cult is known as JMS (Jesus Morning Star).
→ David Koresh (USA, deceased) – Claimed to be the final prophet and Messiah before leading the Waco tragedy.
→ Sun Myung Moon (South Korea, deceased) – Claimed to be the Lord of the Second Advent. His Unification Church is still active.
→ Claude Vorilhon aka Raël (France) – Claims to be the new prophet of the Elohim and that Jesus was an alien hybrid. Not Jesus, but blasphemy.

→ Abdullah Hashem (USA/Online) – Claims to be the Mahdi, falsely says he is the one prophesied to unite Islam. Promotes many anti-Christian ideas and blends Qur’anic and apocalyptic rhetoric.
→ Riaz Ahmed Gohar Shahi (Pakistan) – Claimed to be the awaited Mehdi, Messiah, and Kalki Avatar. His followers still await his "return" after his disappearance.
→ Mohammad al-Mansour (Iraq) – Claimed to be the Mahdi, led a revolt in 2003, was defeated.
→ Ahmed al-Hassan (Iraq) – Claims to be the "Yamani", a precursor of the Mahdi but behaves as if he is the Mahdi. Has online following.
→ Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (India, deceased) – Founder of the Ahmadiyya movement, claimed to be the Mahdi, Messiah, and even Jesus in a spiritual sense. Ahmadiyya is rejected by mainstream Islam and Christians alike.
→ Various individuals in Nigeria, Iran, Sudan, and Pakistan continue to arise, often linked with Shia Mahdism or mystical Sufi teachings that contradict the Gospel.
⚡️ APOSTOLIC WARNING – MANY ANTICHRISTS HAVE COME
